About Relationship Therapy

For almost 20 years as a therapist, I have searched to enrich my work with couples in ways that fit with my beliefs about relationships. I enjoy working with couples interested in taking their relationship to a deeper level.

I am a certified Imago Relationship Therapist. Imago teaches couples how to communicate in a very safe way to further develop their relationship. It provides tools for couples who are interested in understanding why they chose each other, and how their relationship can be interpersonally healing for both partners and the family. Imago is filled with a myriad of rich concepts that can make the relationship safer, more fun, and more interesting.

I am currently studying with John Gottman of the Gottman Institute, known for over 20 years of spectacular research on couples. This work has identified specific behaviors that predict relationship success or failure.

Through my training, I have started to use the Gottman computer-based inventory with couples, which identifies their areas of strength and areas they want to develop and improve.

Between the two, I found that my work allows me to help couples make positive changes within their relationship. Couples often see improvement even in the first few sessions.

Additionally, I have recently started a new program called Whole Family Therapy: For Families in Crisis. In this program, I work with each partner individually and simultaneously before moving into their couples work. Once the couple is stabilized, we bring in the children for whole family healing. All of this work is done in a relatively condensed period of time.

I feel honored to be guiding couples and families on this sacred journey.
